About this Blog
I’m a New Englander and a NY Yankee fan, a contradiction that can only be explained by the fact I grew up in Connecticut south of Hartford and west of the Conn. River. After several years in upstate New York, I’ve recently hit the Oregon Trail and now live in the Willamette Valley, which explains the title of this blog.
The purpose, however, is to provide on-going commentary on regional economic policies and interventions made in the physical environment by planners, architects, and urban designers. The theme I have set forth for myself is not sustainability issues per se, but to explore my own ideals of building new edifices and institutions that will last far into the future.
